PIKETON — Spring has arrived in the beautiful hills of Southern Ohio. With spring comes many festivals including the Pike County Dogwood Festival held in Piketon, Pike County.
The beautiful dogwood trees will be in full bloom just in time for the festival.
This year will mark the 44th anniversary of the festival, which will be held April 24 thru April 27 along the village streets. Tents will be available for the old-time crafts that will be displayed.
This is an opportunity to revisit the past as well as the present. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the old-time crafts from the past.
Entertainment will be abundant throughout the festival. There will be plenty of bluegrass and country music playing throughout the festival. This year’s lineupl includes country music singers Kendall Phillips and Clark Mason.
Some of the other events include the cyclist dogwood tour, car show, 5K run and walk, chainsaw contest, queen contest, baby contest, quilt contest, cake walk, banjo and fiddlers contests, corn hole tournament, arm wresting contest and many other events to keep you entertained. The festival is having senior citizen day on Friday.
