The Hocking County Board of Developmental Disabilities has been operating and conducting business throughout the entirety of the pandemic. As many of you know, the work that we do is considered essential. The work that we have done has been done remotely and in a virtual manner. We took all the requirements and precautions to slow the spread of the virus very seriously. The safety and wellness of the community we serve as well as our staff is our top priority.
We continue to do so today. On July 6th, we will be opening our building up to the public once again. We will remain vigilant in our cleaning and disinfecting protocols. Our staff will wear face coverings while they are working. We will use hand sanitizer and thorough hand-washing while we are working within the community.
Staff experiencing symptoms will stay home. Hand sanitizer will be available for any visitors to our building. We are not requiring the use of face coverings for our visitors, but we do highly encourage it. We have face coverings available for visitors’ use if needed.
We will continue to offer meetings virtually. If virtual meetings cannot take place, we will ensure that our staff is exercising every precaution required and recommended by the Center of Disease Control and our local health department. We remain dedicated to supporting our community through all of the ups and downs during this uncertain time.
We will be resuming in-person visits and meetings on a limited case-by-case basis. Staff are still primarily working remotely to minimize the spread. We will always check for signs of illness before engaging in any in-person meetings, trainings or visits within the community.
The Hocking County Diaper and Formula Bank, housed in the Board of DD building space, has been operating with a drive-through service. We will continue this practice to help minimize the risk of exposure and spreading of any viruses. If you have questions about the Diaper and Formula Bank, please call 740-385-2430.
Please reach out if you have questions or need to schedule an appointment with any of our staff at 740-385-6805.
