Ohio continues to suffer a distressing rise in COVID-19 cases that is affecting our families, our hospitals and our local businesses. We all play a role in slowing the spread of this disease, especially this winter as Ohioans are forced indoors.

The Hocking Hills Tourism Association and hundreds of other businesses and organizations of all sizes have joined the Coalition to Stop the Spread, an effort to mobilize the most effective champions - our individual employees and employers – to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Our organization recognizes that it could be another long year if we all do not do our part to stop the spread. That is why we have joined this coalition and encourage all business owners who rely on travelers from around the nation to Ohio’s Crown Jewel, the Hocking Hills, to follow all protocols, encourage employees to maintain all safety standards in the workplace and in their personal lives.

It may take years to fully understand the impact of this disease has had on our regional economy. Regardless of the dollars and cents, we can all recognize that our beautiful region did not have the same spirit as we lacked gatherings and events that we are known for. We have the opportunity to get through this together and ensure that our 2021 is not a repeat of 2020.

As we enter 2021, we should all share the resolution to do all that we can to stop the spread of COVID-19 in order to enjoy our region with the loved ones we should strive to protect.
