Dear Editor:

Thank you William Phillips for speaking the truth to power. We live near Conkle's Hollow and have watched the progression of billboards being put up. It is a problem for our county. Whoever thought that was a good idea? Our comment was the same as yours, it looks like Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

This week we also completed another survey for the Hocking Hills Tourism Association. How much money have they spent finding out that tourism affects our local community? We feel it is worth our time to offer our two cents.

We grew up in Logan, and retired in the midst of this beautiful countryside. Our answers to the survey questions were mostly in the negative. Do we want to be a world class tourist location? (One of the questions on the survey.) To the Commissioners, we ask that you consider the environment. Progress is wonderful, but plan sensibly.
