LOGAN — Westminster Preschool, an outreach program of the First Presbyterian Church of Logan, has begun registration for the 2019-20 school year.
This year marks the 37th anniversary of providing high quality early childhood education to area preschool children. The mission of the school is to help preschool children develop to their fullest potential in a child centered, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
The school believes that positive early learning experiences can profoundly influence children and their families. The staff recognizes the importance of balanced growth for preschool children and will work throughout each day to nurture the mental, physical, emotional, and social development of every child.
Westminster Preschool is licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The preschool offers two different sessions, which last two and one half hours each.
The Monday, Wednesday, Friday class is for children who will be four years old by July 1 (or have permission of administrator) while children attending the Tuesday, Thursday class serves children who must be at least three years old by May 1st or have permission of the preschool administrator to attend. All children must be toilet trained to attend school.
The staff believes that the link between school and home is an essential aspect of a child’s education. Each month, parents will receive a monthly newsletter and calendar which contain information about weekly themes and daily activities.
A parent orientation session and open house for children attending for the upcoming school year will be held in August prior to the beginning of school. Parent-teacher conferences will be offered in November for families of each child.
Parents wishing to inquire about the preschool or register their child may do so by phoning the church office weekdays 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at 740-385-2242
The staff is looking forward to another year of serving young children in Hocking County!
