LOGAN — Logan shoppers will discover new products and time-saving services at the recently updated Kroger store, located at 31550 Chieftain Drive. The store will celebrate the conclusion of a $3.3 million remodel during an open house event scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 4-6 p.m.

Shoppers may enter to win one of eight $100 Kroger gift cards and are encouraged to bring the kids for balloon sculpting and face painting. Food sampling will be available throughout the store, and customers who use their Kroger Plus card at the Logan Kroger Fuel Center between Nov. 14 and Nov. 16 will reap an extra 20 cents per gallon savings.

The updated 54,855-square-foot Kroger store features a new drive-thru for the pharmacy and an in-store Starbucks®. In the bakery, shoppers will discover Mochi Ice Cream, a trendy frozen treat featuring flavors of premium ice cream wrapped in soft, sweet rice dough. In the deli, shoppers will discover fresh sushi prepared on site and The Chicken Co., a convenient culinary kiosk that offers made-to-order chicken meals and a la carte selections.

A new Kroger Fresh app allows customers to order The Chicken Co. selections and fresh-sliced bulk deli meats and cheeses ahead of time and pick them up at the store without waiting in line. Kroger offers a separate counter for Kroger Fresh order pickup.

“All of our store updates and new features were designed in response to customer needs,” said Mike Lucas, Logan Kroger store leader. “We know the work week can be hectic and customers may want to try The Chicken Co., which offers individual meals, family meals, sides and a la carte selections. Shoppers may order online with our Kroger Fresh app and pick up in store.”

For greater customer convenience, the Logan Kroger store will introduce Kroger Pickup, Kroger’s online ordering and parking lot pickup service beginning Thursday, Nov. 15. Kroger also offers Logan shoppers the option to order their groceries online and have them delivered to their home via Kroger Ship.

“Kroger constantly strives to find new ways to bring more convenience to our customers,” Lucas said. “We’re thrilled to introduce Logan shoppers to new, alternate ways to shop for groceries. We hope the community will enjoy these time-saving options along with our other updates.”

Committed to ending hunger in the local community, Kroger recently provided $65,000 in funding to Southeast Ohio Foodbank to aid in transportation and assist the foodbank in servicing pantries throughout southeast Ohio. A check presentation will be held at 10 a.m. as part of the Logan Kroger grand re-opening celebration on Nov. 14.
