Three chords and a beer

Three Chords and a Beer play Worthington Park Friday. Drummer Dwayne Young is not pictured.

LOGAN – This Friday Three Chords and a Beer will bring classic rock music to Worthington Park. The group has its roots in a group of friends who began playing together 20 years ago. While they played a wide variety of venues including The Home Tavern, Diamond Fest and the annual Music in the Park program, they primarily played private parties and weddings. With family and career needs expanding, the group decided to take an extended hiatus. A couple of years ago, band member Dutch Junge decided he would like to play again and he put together an eclectic and energetic bunch of “old guys” who love classic rock music. Those “classic old guys” will bring their “classic rock music” for the listening enjoyment of the many faithful fans of Music in the Park. Since last week was a rain out, this week will be a welcome return for all participants.

Concerts run from 6:30–8 p.m. Spectators should bring seating. Concerts generally occur rain or shine except in extreme weather. The Inspire Homeless Shelter Volunteers will vend food and beverages by donation; participants can bring their own picnics. Alcohol is not permitted in the park; smoking is permitted on the perimeter of the park. The free concerts are brought to the community by the generosity of sponsors such as businesses, civic organizations, merchants, individuals and others, in addition to donations from those attending the concerts. All donations are greatly appreciated. For additional information, contact concert coordinators, Keith and Liza Conner, at 740-385-0694.
