LOGAN — Ewing Grange #2082 held the annual inspection meeting on Sept. 23 with 19 members and one junior attending. Joanne Fink offered prayer before the potluck meal.
Master Carolyn Kienzle opened the meeting and announced Ewing Grange received first place for its booth at the Hocking County fair. Special thanks to Jennie Houchin, chairwoman and other members for their help.
Master Kienzle thanked the members who helped at the Millersport Sweet Corn Festival and serving food at two farm auctions.
One proposal for membership was read and approved for membership. The new member, Emma Schluep was initiated during the meeting.
Kienzle also announced Hocking County came in first place for collecting the most eyeglasses, which are donated to the Ohio State Grange. The state grange will be hosting an ice cream social for Ewing and Hocking Grange at Kachelmacher Park ,Oct. 6th at 2 p.m.
Upcoming events are Oct. 26th hayride and Halloween wiener roast at Kienzle’s farm; Nov. 8th bake sale at Worthington Park; and serving food at two farm auctions Nov. 2nd and Nov. 30th.
Stephanie Blackford, lecturer, conducted a program titled Fall. A game with fall facts was played by members and two reading titled Autumn and Autumn Days were read.
Next regular Grange meeting will be Oct. 14th.
