LOGAN — Sarah’s Daughters of the First Church of Christ met May 6, in the church social room for its annual Mother-Daughter Banquet, which was catered by Lee Howdeyshell of Bush’s Restaurant.

In attendance were 25 ladies: Carol Rider, Sarah Dillhoff, Bev Lytle, Donna Phillips, Tina Palmer, Celia Blair, Faith and Tammy Harris, Linda Judson, Sue Barrell, Jodi Joesph, Amy Laird, Pam Kilkenny, Brenda Huffer, Hele Sigler, Gabby and Greacelyn Freisner, Angie Gainer, Gloria Gainer, Lois Tolber, Charlotte Cox, Chris Barrell, Paula Wallace.

Prayer for the meal was given by Charlotte Cox. The tables were beautifully decorated by Cox and Chris Barrell. As table favors, each lady received a small pot of flowers.

Deovtions were presented by Cox, What “MOTHER” stands for: M – model of selflessness, O – outer and inner beauty, T – thankful and caring heart, H – humble and patient, E – ever gentle and kind, R – reflection of Christ’s love.

“Mothers plant the seeds of love. All the flowers of all the tomorrows are in the seeds of today.”

Prizes were given to Helen Sigler for having the most children present, Sue Barrell for doing a load of laundry that day, and Paula Wallace who had the newest members present. Prizes also went to Angie and Gracelyn Gainer and to others who were present.

Shoeboxes for Christmas was mentioned and it was noted that 24,024 were sent out in Southeastern Ohio in 2018 and overall 10,623,776 were sent out.

The Father-Son Banquet will be held on June 3, at the church at 6 p.m.
