LOGAN — The Logan-Hocking School District will be holding preschool screenings on Monday, March 16 for any child interested in participating in preschool for the 2020-2021 school year.
Your child must be three years old by Monday, March 16. If your child will not be three years old by this date, but your are still interested in preschool for the 2020-2021 school year, contact Angie Souders to be added to the roster list at 740-385-8517, ext. 30009.
The screenings will be held at Central Elementary School, 445 Market St., at 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.
During screenings your child will be taken through various stations by the preschool staff and observed. Parents are interviewed and will be asked to complete paperwork required for the pre-registration process.
The Logan-Hocking Preschool Program is a tuition based program unless your child has a predetermined disability that would qualify them for an IEP. However, the district does receive grant funding through the Ohio Department of Education that is income based.
Therefore, a limited amount of tuition waivers are available for those families demonstrating the highest need. There is also assistance available through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services for parents that are employed, attending school or actively looking for employment. Those applying for either type of assistance must meet income guidelines.
For questions or to make a screening appointment, contact Angie Souders, administrative assistant at 740-385-8517, ext. 30009. Space is limited so call soon to reserve a time. You must register to attend.
