LOGAN — Veterans can take advantage of a mobile unit coming to town, instead of making a long trip out of town for important services.
The Hocking County Veterans’ Service Commission will be bringing the Veteran’s Administration Mobile Unit for care services to Tractor Supply from June 25 through Nov. 26, on a monthly basis.
They will be available on June 25, July 9, Aug. 27, Sept. 24, Oct. 22, and Nov. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The VA will enroll veterans for healthcare services, assist with hearing devices and provide prosthetic repair. Enrollment physicals can also be done at that time.
The VA Mobile Units are allowing veterans an opportunity to get services that they are eligible for within a reasonable distance from home. Some of the units are equipped with Telehealth. This is a system that allows patients and their physicians to communicate via computer when geographical distances separate them.
These modern-day advances are expected to increase the access and quality of care that Veterans can have, without the worry of VA Medical Services being located so far away.
Additional information can be obtained from Vicki Rafferty of the Hocking County Veterans Service Commission at 740-385-7507.
