logan – On June 29 the Purple Clovers 4-H Pride club had a meeting at Kachelmacher Park at 12:30 after the humane society workday, and bought Pizza Crossing pizza for lunch. Kallen Miller led the pledge of Allegiance and Abby Cox led the 4-H pledge. Kaylee Cox gave a demonstration about goats and focused on the rumen stomach. Kaylee also did an experiment to represent what happened in the rumen stomach. Members discussed what they are doing for the fair 4-H booth and flower box display. After the meeting, the club had a skillathon quiz bowl and studied skillathon materials. Ceceilia Miller and Abby Cox won the skillathon quiz bowl and all members earned a candy bar for giving a good effort. Next meeting will be Tuesday, July 27 at Crystal’s house to make a flower box display.

On June 19, the club hosted a donation drive at Tractor Supply to support the Hocking County Humane Society. The club collected $525 in cash, three 50-pound bags of feed, nine 16-pound bags of feed, seven bags of cat litter, seven cans of disinfectant wipes/spray, two bottles of hand sanitizer, four bags of pet treats, and five pet toys! Then, on June 29, the club volunteered at the humane society to help clean pens and help as needed. The club members enjoyed working at these community service events. Thank you to all of the community members who donated to support this important cause.
