ATHENS — Richard Lee “Dick” Adams, 74, of Athens, currently incarcerated in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail, was indicted by the May term of the 2019 Grand Jury on July 8, for one count of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a felony of the second degree; and 31 counts of pandering sexually-oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, felonies of the second degree.
Prosecutor Keller J. Blackburn reports that, “These charges are the result of the findings from just one electronic item belonging to Adams. Additional items are in the process of being analyzed and investigation is continuing, which could result in additional charges.”
Prosecutor Blackburn further states that, “Anyone that would like to reach out to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Victim Assistance Office may do so by calling 740-592-3208 and asking to speak with Becky Filar.”
Adams is currently scheduled to appear before Judge George P. McCarthy on July 17, for arraignment.
This case was investigated by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Athens County Children Services based on information received from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
