A fire destroyed a pole barn in Green Township Tuesday.

LOGAN — More than seven agencies from four counties responded to a structure fire in Green Township Tuesday morning.

Logan Fire Department Chief Chris Maley told The Logan Daily News Wednesday that his department responded to a call shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday morning for a 30 feet by 40 feet pole barn on fire off of Mowery Lehman Road. No injuries were reported, Maley said.

Among the agencies assisting Logan’s first responders were Starr Township Volunteer Fire Department, Ward Township Fire & Rescue, Shawnee Volunteer Fire Department (Perry County), Berne Township Fire Department (Fairfield County), Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department, Hocking County EMS, Hocking County Sheriff’s Office and BOX 5, an Athens County support unit, Maley said. Old Straitsville Water Association also assisted by turning on a hydrant, he added.

“We were out there till about 1:30 by the time we got everything put out and the building pretty much torn apart, (because) we had to get to some hot spots,” Maley said.

The Division of State Fire Marshal responded as well, Maley said, and is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
