Editor’s Note: In Tuesday’s edition of The Logan Daily News, we ran a story, “History in the Hocking River,” about a Logan man who found a wagon wheel in the river along Kachelmacher Park. A Hocking County Historical Society member dated the wheel as being from the mid- to late-1800s. After seeing the story, one of our online readers, who goes by the user name “lehmans_terms,” submitted to us an article that appeared in our publication when it was known as the Hocking Sentinel, that perhaps, explains the origins of that wheel in the river. For those unfamiliar, Scott’s Creek becomes the Hocking River along state Route 93 South.
