Welcoming the earliest spring in over a century

Two little creamy crocuses push their heads through the warming forest floor to welcome the earliest spring in 124 years. Native to the woodland, scrub, and meadows from sea level to alpine tundra in North Africa and the Middle East, central and southern Europe crocuses have become an American garden favorite. This cheery pair, however, are garden escapees, preferring the “natural life” among the fallen leaves. See spring-related story on Page A5 of today’s edition of The Logan Daily News.
