LOGAN — The Hocking County Veterans Day Parade Committee is seeking Korean War veterans for grand marshal of the annual parade.

THORNVILLE — On Sunday, Oct. 20, the rustic central Ohio Village of Thornville will host over 10,000 visitors and shoppers as the Lions Club celebrates 45 years of fostering handcrafts and local artisans.

LOGAN — Falls Township Trustees have scheduled fall cleanup of township cemeteries the week of Oct. 7. Cemeteries include Antioch, Gore, Morris Chapel, Pleasant Valley, Scotts Creek, Shaw and Webb.

LOGAN — The Fairview Cemetery Fall cleanup is scheduled for Oct. 7 through Oct. 11, weather permitting. Items not removed by Oct. 14 will be discarded. Items on the stone or in a vase will not be removed.

LOGAN — The 2019 Fall Cheer Clinic will be held on Sunday, Oct. 6 from 12:30 - 4:30 p.m. This is for grades Pre-K thru grade 6. All participants will receive a cheer bow, t-shirt, entrance to the game plus a few other treats including a snack during the clinic.

LOGAN — Through a sponsorship from the Hocking County United Way, the Southeast Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, will be hosting a mobile food distribution at the Hocking County Fairgrounds, Monday, Sept. 16 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

ATHENS — Residents in Athens-Hocking Solid Waste District can bring their old tires Saturday, Sept. 14, to the Tire Recycling Collection event, located at theAthens County Fairgrounds, 286 West Union Street, Athens, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LOGAN — The Annual Fall Cleanup at Oak Grove Cemetery will be held Oct. 7 thru Oct. 11, according to Nick Maniskas, cemetery foreman.

LOGAN — Falls Township Trustees report that Pleasant Valley Road will be closed from Starr Route Road to Cook Road. The closure will be Sept. 9-11, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day for road repairs.

LOGAN — On Monday, Sept. 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. the water service will be interrupted on West Hunter Street from Furnace to Iron Street; Iron Street from West Hunter to Third Street; and Church Street from Elm to West Street.
