NEW STRAITSVILLE — Billy Joe “Bill” Coomer, 72, of New Straitsville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at his home.

He was born Feb. 2, 1941, in LaSee, Ky., son of the late John and Anna Lloyd Coomer. Bill was a retired employee of Selkirk Metalbestos and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Love Coomer; daughters, Nancy (Jack) Pompey and Mary Beth (Kirk) Lucas; son, Joe (Diana) Coomer; son-in-law, Tim Decore; sisters, Constance Petty, Marylou Inman, Bobbie Jean Dickson, Carol Hanson-King; brothers, John Coomer, Ed Coomer and David Coomer; grandchildren, Fanchon Glick, Lainey Decore, Nicholas Pompey, Rachael Pompey, Andrew Pompey, Kyle Lucas, Kevin Lucas, David Stires,and Ashley Stires; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Penny Coomer and Susan Decore; sister, Neva Dupler; brothers, Fred Coomer, Harold Coomer and George Coomer.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, 6935 Township Rd 234, Logan, Ohio.
