Ricky Alan Johnson

On Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, Ricky (Rick) A. Johnson, went to be with his Jesus at the age of 67.

Rick was born at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas on April 16, 1954 to Harold and Betty (Beougher) Johnson. He was raised in Logan, Ohio and moved full-time to Cape Coral, Fla., in January 1998. He was a member of the Logan football team, manager of the boys' basketball team, an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, a member of the Boy Scouts Order of the Arrow, and an adult volunteer leader in the Boy Scouts of America. He graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mount Vernon, Ohio, where he was a member of the tennis team, in 1976 with a degree in business administration. He met and married his wife Vicky in 1978.

Rick was a life-long NASCAR fan and follower of all types of Motorsports and Tennis. Rick was a member of the national and local chapters of the American Heart Association where he had been a volunteer visiting heart patients at HealthPark Medical Center in Ft. Myers, Fla., and previously served in roles coordinating volunteers, walking in Heart Walks, and raising funds for the local chapter of the American Heart Association. Rick served in Sons of AMVETS Post 81 as chaplain in North Ft. Myers, Fla. He supported and served in various roles at the Logan, Ohio Church of the Nazarene, Ft. Myers Church of the Nazarene Church, and attended and supported The Church by the Sea in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Riverside Baptist Church in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Rick practiced residential real estate appraisal work for 30-plus years in Ohio and Florida before retiring. Rick was a stranger to no one in the community and always had time to carry on lengthy conversations with everyone he knew and met. Rick chose to live his belief in Jesus Christ as his Savior and to share with others.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Victoria A. Johnson; Rick's parents, Harold and Betty Johnson, of Logan, Ohio; brothers, Randy (Laura), of Coconut Creek, Fla., Robin (Mary), of Baltimore, Ohio; sister, Renee (Jack) Johnson, of Baltimore, Ohio: sisters-in-law Angela (Michael) Gabennesch, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Trina Bookman, of Logan, Ohio, Renita (Bob) Reed, of Lancaster, Ohio, Regina (Jimmy) Lusk, of the Cleveland, Ohio, area; brother-in-law Anthony (Becca) Ucker of the Cleveland, Ohio area; and many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces and lots of extended family, church family, friends and former classmates.

A Celebration of Rick's Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 6 at the Anthem Church, Fort Myers; 13545 American Colony Blvd., Fort Myers, Fla. 33912.
