NEW LEXINGTON – Perry County is taking Hocking College to court, over land that the county transferred to the college for free nearly three decades ago. Though the original transfer agreement called for Hocking College, which has a Perry County campus, to use the land for the construction of educational facilities, a legal complaint filed by the county on May 4 in Perry County Common Pleas Court says the college is now trying to sell the land, reportedly for commercial development.
