LOGAN – Recently graduated Logan-Hocking Schools student athlete Christian Swart has been named a 2021 High School Scholar All America Player, by the United Soccer Coaches High School Scholar All America Committee.
This award recognizes players who have excelled on the field as well as in the classroom. All the winners have at least a 3.75 GPA and have been recognized for their excellence on the field in a variety of ways.
In a formal announcement letter, Haroot Hakopian, national chair of the High School Scholar All-America Committee, informed Swart that the organization will be sending him two certificates and a medal emblematic of his recognition.
Late this fall, the letter said, Swart will be invited to attend the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony on Jan. 22, 2022, honoring all of the All-Americans and Scholar All-Americans for youth, high school and college soccer in 2021. The event will take place in conjunction with the annual United Soccer Coaches Convention, in Kansas City, Mo., and will be attended by over 1,200 players, families and coaches.
Swart has earned multiple honors in his school athletic career. In January, the Logan Daily News reported, he was named to the 2020 United Soccer Coaches Fall Boys High School All-Great Lakes Region Team.
Before that he had made first team on the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association’s Division I All-Ohio team and DI Player of the Year on the 2020 All-Southeast District Coaches Association soccer squad. Swart was only the second Logan player to earn these honors, following Caiden Landis.
