PATASKALA — Mistakes proved costly as the Logan freshman football team was shut out 14-0 Saturday at Watkins Memorial.

The game was scoreless at halftime before the Warriors scored twice in the second half and kept Logan (3-2) off the scoreboard.

The Chiefs committed four turnovers “that were all drive-killers,” said Logan coach Justin Pack. “We were able to move the ball, but key fumbles stalled out drives.”

Easton Castle returned an interception 90 yards to lead the Chieftains.

The freshmen are slated to play this Saturday (10 a.m. kickoff) at Zanesville.

JV game canceled: There was no junior varsity game on Saturday because Athens did not have enough players to play the reserve Chieftains.

The JV Chiefs (3-2) play at Zanesville this Saturday (noon) following the freshman game.
