NELSONVILLE — Host Nelsonville-York handed the Logan eighth-grade girls basketball team a 40-22 setback on Thursday.

On Wednesday, Lancaster Thomas Ewing held off the Logan girls 30-23 in the Lancaster school’s new facility.

The Ewing game was close all the way, with the host club holding advantages of 6-2, 12-7 and 20-12 at the quarter stops.

Mollie Landis powered the Lady Chiefs (3-7) with 14 points and also chipped in two assists. Abby Tier had four points and four scoring passes, Jordan Abram four points and Makayla Ellinger one point and four boards.

Landis scored 12 points and Tier 10 against Nelsonville-York and Jaylen Staten made five steals.

The eighth-grade girls play their final two home games this week, hosting Alexander on Monday and Vinton County on Wednesday.
