LOGAN — Logan swept a home eighth-grade home volleyball tri-match with visiting Athens and Vinton County last Saturday and won Monday at Lancaster Sherman.

Logan defeated Athens 25-14, 25-10 as Carley Thompson went 12-of-14 serving (eight aces) and 5-5 in attacks (three kills) and Emily Hood was 7-7 serving (two aces), 7-7 in attacks (five kills) and added three digs.

Rylie Woltz was 6-6 serving (one ace), 5-6 in attacks (two kills) and had two digs and Hannah Nunley was 7-7 serving (one ace) with five digs.

The Lady Chiefs downed VC 25-14, 25-11 as Woltz went 5-6 serving (three aces) and 10-10 in attacks (five kills) while Hood was 10-10 serving (one ace) with two digs and Aislynn Slack 9-10 serving (5 aces) with two digs.

Chloe McCarty was 5-7 serving (three aces) with three digs, Maggie Weaver was 5-6 serving (one ace) with two kills and Aryanna Burnside added three digs.

At Sherman, Logan (8-2 record) won 25-14, 25-18 as Thompson went 12-12 serving (two aces) and 3-3 in attacks (one kill), McCarty 8-10 serving (two aces) and 3-5 in attacks (two kills) and Hood 8-8 serving and 3-3 in attacks (two kills).

Weaver was 7-7 serving (one ace) and Woltz 7-7 serving (1 ace) and 6-8 in attacks (three kills) while Slack contributed four digs and Aryanna Burnside two.
