The Logan Lady Chiefs picked up a pair of home seventh-grade volleyball victories over teams from Newark while winning four matches in 10 days and running their spotless record to 17-0.
The Logan girls beat Newark Liberty 25-6, 25-7 on Tuesday as Rachel Bauers went 14-of-16 (11 aces) serving and Natalie Pierce went 8-9 serving (four aces) and 9-9 in attacks (seven kills). Jenna Dearth was 7-7 serving (two aces), Avery Debord 4-4 (three aces) and Laurel Long 5-6 (two aces).
On Saturday, the Logan girls outlasted Newark Heritage 25-23, 25-21 as Pierce went 8-10 serving (four aces) and 9-10 in attacks (five kills) and added two digs. Ava Swope was 8-10 serving (three aces), Ella Ditty went 4-4 serving (two aces) and 2-2 in attacks and Debord was 6-8 serving (one ace).
The Lady Chiefs won a recent match at Pickerington Ridgeview, pulling out a 25-22, 24-26, 25-23 triumph, and also beat Watkins Memorial 25-14, 25-19 in a home contest.
Ditty was 15-15 serving (eight aces) and 6-9 in attacks against Ridgeview while Pierce was 10-12 serving (three aces) and 9-13 in attacks (four kills) with six digs. Bauers was 5-5 serving (two aces) and 13-14 in attacks (nine kills) and added eight digs.
Against Watkins, Bauers was 13-13 serving (three aces), Pierce 6-6 serving (five aces) and 4-6 in attacks (three kills) while Dearth served 8-of-8 (two aces).
