LOGAN — The Logan seventh-grade girls volleyball team defeated both Meigs and Nelsonville-York while the eighth-grade girls topped N-Y and lost to Meigs in recent road matches.

The 7G team beat Meigs 25-11, 25-9. Rachel Bauers was 11-11 serving (eight aces), Natalie Pierce 6-7 (five aces), Ella Ditty 8-9 (two aces) and Jenna Dearth 8-8 (four aces).

Logan was a 25-19, 25-15 winner at N-Y on Wednesday. Bauers was 10-11 serving and 5-5 in attacks (two kills), Ditty 10-10 serving (three aces), Pierce 4-5 serving (three kills) and 11-12 in attacks (four kills), Sophie Swope 9-9 serving (three aces), Ava Swope 7-7 serving (two aces) and Dearth 4-5 in attacks.

The eighth grade lost 12-25, 25-23, 20-25 to Meigs. Aryanna Burnside was 9-9 serving, Maggie Weaver 7-7, and Hannah Nunley and Emily Hood 3-3.

The team rebounded for a 25-20, 21-25 win at N-Y, where Carley Thompson went 14-14 serving (two aces) and 5-5 in attacks and Rylie Woltz was 12-12 serving (two aces) and 6-8 in attacks (two kills).

Hannah Nunley was 3-4 serving, 7-7 in attacks (four kills) and added seven digs, Hood was 4-5 serving, 5-7 in attacks (two kills) and had five digs, Slack and Burnside both had three digs, and Weaver was 4-5 serving and 3-3 in attacks (two kills) with four digs.
