NEWARK — The seventh grade won in straight sets while the eighth grade triumphed in three as Logan swept a junior high volleyball twinbill Thursday at Newark Liberty.

In the seventh-grade match, a 25-19, 25-14 Logan success, Ella Ditty went 10-of-10 serving (four aces), Rachel Bauers was 8-8 serving (one ace), Ava Swope was 7-8 serving, Nataile Pierce was 7-7 serving (three aces) and 11-12 in attacks, Laurel Long was 8-8 serving (two aces) and Sophie Swope contributed seven digs.

Logan outlasted Liberty 25-15, 23-25, 25-19 in the eighth-grade contest as Maggie Weaver went 20-21 serving (six aces) and had two digs and Emily Hood went 13-14 serving (two aces), 6-8 in attacks (one kill) and had four digs.

Also, Rylie Woltz was 12-13 serving (three aces), 10-11 in attacks (four kills) and had five digs, Aislynn Slack was 7-7 serving and had four digs, Hannah Nunley was 3-3 serving and 5-5 in attacks and had four digs, Abby Delong had seven digs and Aryanna Burnside and Lilly Nihiser contributed a pair of digs apiece.
