LANCASTER — Host Lancaster Sherman took an early eight-point lead and went on to defeat the visiting Logan eighth-grade girls basketball team 34-28 on Wednesday.

Sherman led 10-2, 19-9 and 25-17 at the quarter breaks in defeating the Lady Chiefs (0-2) for a second-consecutive time.

Mollie Landis paced the Logan girls with 17 points and six rebounds while Abby Tier contributed seven tallies and two scoring passes.

Makayla Ellinger chipped in four points and five rebounds while Madison Hankison had four steals and Jordan Abram dished out three assists.
